Confirmed from Garnsey Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Leafy park featuring well-maintained hiking paths for birdwatching and nature walks through the woods.
What runners say about Garnsey Park
“Easy for kids & mowed/ brushed clean.”
“Easy to follow & clearly marked trails.”
“It's a peaceful spot to sit and watch the birds glide across the water.”
Trails can get muddy in the early spring but it is a great place to go for a quick nature walk. My (soon to be four year old) son had a lot if fun chasing butterflies and frogs there too.
The area is really pretty and gives a taste of various landscapes, from grassland to brush to forest. However, the trails are sometimes left unkept letting the grass get uncomfortably high. Stretches of trails can also get real muddy after rain.
I went when the trails were snow-covered. Seems like it would be really nice in the warmer months. Trails are still easy to walk on in with the compact snow. Looks like some people cross-country ski here.
Nice wide trails. Mostly clear for the most part. Peaceful and quiet depending upon the day you choose to go. Seen what I believe to be a very young pine marten which are rare to see in the wild.
Trail conditions & character
“Trails are maintained but several places have muddy spots during the winter and spring that you’ll have to “plank over”.”
“Be aware that there are ticks; every time I’ve ever walked my dog here I’ve found ticks on him.”
“Little over 2 miles of you follow blue, yellow, white and red markers.”
“It's a peaceful spot to sit and watch the birds glide across the water.”
“Red loop is a 1/2 mile but you can loop onto white and blue to make a total loop of about 1 mile.”
