Confirmed from Garth Road Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded park featuring a basketball court, a playground, play structures, swings and a baseball field.
What runners say about Garth Road Park
“The mulch is clean and the park, well maintained.”
“It is also right next to the metro north train tracks so it's not always quiet and relaxing.”
“This park is great, as it offers a variety of play spaces suitable for children of all ages from toddler to teen.”
Lots of interesting wildlife. Walking south brings you to the pine forest. Its not big but its quiet and has a great variety of plants and flowers,
This area was not a good location for a park in my opinion. People whip around the corner through the park parking lot like crazy people. There should be a cop monitoring the speeders over there. Other than that the park was nicely shaded. Kids had fun
Trail conditions & character
“No need to worry about parking, since there are plenty of free parking spaces all around.”
“It is also right next to the metro north train tracks so it's not always quiet and relaxing.”
“There are also benches for relaxing, checkers and picnic tables, clean bathrooms, and even a little library box with books to enjoy your time while your loved ones are playing.”
“Other than that the park was nicely shaded.”
“Just make sure if you're bringing your furry friends, they are on a leash because many children come here and will instantly want to pet your friend.”
“There are a few benches and even less, dated concrete chess/backgammon tables.”

- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
