Confirmed from Sprain Ridge Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Large, heavily wooded park offering several trails for hiking & mountain biking plus picnic areas.
What runners say about Sprain Ridge Park
“The swimming pool is exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which is always a top priority for me.”
Sprain Ridge trails are made for biking and walking. Some trails are better for mountain bikes, especially the winding ones. The park offers pools, barbacue areas, restrooms and parking. The trail paths are easy to find and follow.
Not the most I interesting park when we went. Still nice though. Probably better in the summer the have a pool and looks like they are building a second one. Lots of dirt bike tracks on the trails, which probably isn't legal but the trail flows like a track. Would be nice for mountain biking.
A very big park, ideal for mountain biking. We went for trail running. The trails are a bit hard to follow (at one point we have to climb a steep hill to follow the trail shown on AllTrail) and a bit muddy in the winter.
Trail conditions & character
“The park is dog friendly and there are plenty of garbage bins on or around the parking areas.”

“Another great aspect is the ample parking available, so there’s no need to worry about finding a spot.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
