Confirmed from Gary C. Swensen Valley Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Gary C. Swensen Valley Regional Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (1,186 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 4 mentions

“The bathrooms are pretty rough, they get hosed down to clean them.”

🌳 shaded & cool 4 mentions

“There is a decent amount of shade around the park, but not much on the playground.”

Loved this park! It is huge and plenty of space for me n my dog to roam around. The only issue I had was, not knowing where exactly we could walk n weren’t in the way of the frisbee golfers, since I’ve never played before.

This place is great. The floor is made of super soft torn rubber, you can leap from the top and it not hurt! ( From personal experience (testing for my child... and science... and it was fun!! But don't sue me, your experience my differ!) Even when it's freezing.

Wonderful place to walk, disc golf or practice outdoor sports. There are "goatheads" on the "back nine" so be careful with canines. They will inevitable pick them in their pads and not be happy about it...."goatheads" are mean little dried seed pods that have two pronounced spikes.

This park is good for kids, although one new climbing feature on the playground is a bit tall for little ones and without edges so watch those kids and avoid a fall! The sign does state age limits recommended for play, but this is a public park for everyone, right!?

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 5 mentions

“Anyway, we have fun playing, didn't use the restrooms, have loved riding bikes and walking around the paved track and playing games on the green spaces over years.”
