Confirmed from Gateway Wetlands Park, Bolingbrook Park District's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Gateway Wetlands Park, Bolingbrook Park District
“But it's one of our favorite locations hidden from the road and highly shaded.”
Great little natural wetlands to walk your dogs. Doggie cleanup bags are provided so that the Wetlands can stay waste free. The path isn't really bike safe but it a nice place to rollerblade in the warmer months. The Gazebo is nice for a picnic and there's a few good spots to take the kids fishing.
We lived going here. They have a really cool park. It's in a wooded area so it's shaded well. Bring bug spray if the bugs bother you. After we went to the park we went on the trail. It was a nice trail. Not super long. They have two docks to go out to the water on.
Surprisingly nice fairly minimalistic walking path around the lake and wetlands.
Cutest little hidden gem playground ever! Regular swings, baby swings, 3 slides, a treehouse, benches to sit on and a boardwalk trail to take a stroll. Oh, and TONS of trees= lots of shade! Highly recommended!
