Confirmed from Gibbs Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Popular recreation area featuring woods, a lake, hiking trails and horseback excursions.
What runners say about Gibbs Lake Park
“It was beautiful, saw an orange Tanager (a red bodied bird), three young deer as well as wild turkeys and some ducks, including a white one.”
I trailer my horse out to trail ride and had a great time. Trails are very well kept and wide enough for my Clydesdale to pass other horses. Wide load.. 😆 The only thing I feel would be great for new comers is signage. For the directionally impaired n those that get lost in a circle such as myself.
Used to just be mediocre, but the new trail that goes around the lake is a fantastic walk. I took my new dog there and we really enjoyed it a lot. One of our favorite shorter nature hiking spots in the area now.
Excellent park for multiple things to do year round. The lake has a good amount of pan fish and small mouth bass. Easy access in summer or winter for ice fishing. There are several hiking and horse back trails that go through the woods.
Beautiful lake! We’ve taken our dog here for the trails and to swim. If you want to fish, get on a boat or kayak and go towards the middle. It’s pretty shallow for the most part. We had a wonderful time kayaking!

- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
