Confirmed from Grand River Wildlife Observation Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Grand River Wildlife Observation Trail
“Lots of beautiful mast trees.”
“Quite easy trail, almost anyone could do it.”
Easy walking natural trail. No wildlife, as usual in this area. Too many predators. Fun fact- The trail runs along property that was once Trumbull Barbell & Fitness. Some of the strongest men in the world worked out at this barn gym in the middle of nowhere. The owner was a huge farm boy that came within 15 lbs.
Nice place for a quick walk. Gravel parking lot on a slight incline across the street from the trail. Lots of beautiful mast trees. Hickory, oak and beech primarily. The trail is about 3/4 of a mile and is basically flat. Several benches are placed evenly along the trail if you need a rest break.
Short trail but scenic. Never busy and quite wild. Long boardwalk that goes over the beaver impoundments. Quite easy trail, almost anyone could do it. As of early June 2023 the impoundments are nearly dried up, due to the lack of rain.
Cool place to hike around. Beware of hunters they will be out hunting.
