Excellent falls. Hidden gem that many people don't even know exists so close the country's capitol. Overlook 2 and 3 are best, whereas overlook 1 gives partial view, but still awesome. Not all these three overlooks are 100 percent accessible using wheelchair or mobility scooter.
We visited during the month of March on a beautiful day! There are a lot of trails in the park and around the area, and you get some great views of the falls! Dogs are allowed ON LEASH in the park which made us happy as we wanted to make sure our dogs could enjoy a little hike as well!
Great Falls Park was one of the most impressive natural attractions we visited during our trip. The powerful flow of the Potomac River rushing through massive rock formations creates a breathtaking landscape that is difficult to capture fully in photos. What makes this place even better is how easy it is to access.
I visited on a sunny spring day and was completely blown away by the power and beauty of the waterfalls crashing through the rocky gorge of the Potomac River. The viewing platforms and overlooks offer up-close vantage points that make you feel like you’re right there in the middle of nature’s drama.
