Confirmed from Griggs Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverfront spot offering boating, trails, nature preserves, lighted woods & a disc-golf course.
What runners say about Griggs Park
“nice scenic views I like how there are boat ramps as well as signs that encourage you to do some fishing.”
“If you are looking for a peaceful place to picnic, fish, or take a walk to clear your head, this is your place.”
Beautiful drive and walking along this 3.5 to 4 mile stretch by the Scioto river. You can lose a lot of time being here. Many port-a-port-a-potties here. Nice shelterhouse and minimum playground equipment. Many picnic tables here. You will see many people fishing here.
Nice little oasis for a quick walk or to work from if the weather is nice. Lots of wildlife and beautiful places to walk or rest. Bathrooms: there was no regular bathroom available when I went, I had to use a (very clean) port-a-pot, but not a problem.
We love Griggs! If you are looking for a peaceful place to picnic, fish, or take a walk to clear your head, this is your place. It is spread out so you can choose what part of the river you want to enjoy :)
Lovely and quiet place! Whether you want to go for a walk, be with your fishing rod, or be with your camera, this is the place to be. And it gets really colorful during fall.

“Lots of places to fish, picnic and the road is paved, making a great walking path!”
“Nottingham Road has exactly this crossing- but even then, when the Ped Xing sign was on and the lights turned red, a driver at a considerable speed refused to stop or slow down.”
“Lots of parking in lots and little pull offs along the way.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
