We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Guemes Mountain yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Guemes Mountain

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (21 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Nice hike up, beautiful trees and turns, with a wonderful view from the top looking out at the islands and the water.”

Fantastic views from the top. One of the best short hikes in the region! I live in Bellingham and rarely get to see such a clear view of Mt. Baker. Thank you to the trailbuilders, they have done a great job. 2.2 miles round trip.

Beautiful view and not too hard of hike at 2.3 miles round trip. Hiked up again for sunrise

★★★★★ — Mike , Jul 2020

Beautiful hike! The hike is up to the top of Guemes mountain where you can *sometimes* get a view of the water and surrounding mountains. Highly encourage going on a day when the rain has been cleared out for a few hours. Beautiful flowers and evergreens!

★★★★★ — Elijah , Jul 2025

Well kept trail, steep in places but the switchbacks help immensely. View from the top worth the effort !!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
