Confirmed from Hamilton Greenbelt II's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hamilton Greenbelt II

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (41 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Less popular entry than Hamilton Greenbelt I, but leads right to the hiking paths and beautiful overlook, love this place.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“Super nice and serene trail that is easy to access from multiple points, with a good parking lot just off the main road by city hall.”

Great hike and has multiple options and entrances depending on what you choose. We did the hike till hurst creek and got lost a few times as the pathways aren’t clearly labeled. We did the high loop and came out through the clubhouse trail. Overall a nice 2.5 mile hike.

Nice serene trail located in Lakeway and is within 40mins of drive from Austin city. Has wide parking space with wheelchair accessible parking. As of Nov 2021,the trail isn't well lit so its very dark at nights. No entrance fees associated with the trail. #HappyTrails

Super nice and serene trail that is easy to access from multiple points, with a good parking lot just off the main road by city hall. Dog friendly, kid friendly, and lots of nice waterfalls to see on a nice day.

Great park in Lakeway to walk and take your dog etc. I see deer everytime I walk there along the creek. Also has a bird hide where you can sit and watch the birds eat.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says

  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
