Confirmed from Hawk Falls' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“It’s a short, easy hike that rewards you with a beautiful waterfall view at the end.”

Awesome spot to check out. The trail is fairly easy and well traveled. This spot attracts a crowd pretty much all year long. Great view of the falls, Hawk Run, and Mud Run. There are 2 parking lots with a good amount of parking but can fill up quick.

This scenic trail is perfect for a family walk as it winds through peaceful woods, follows alongside creeks, and takes you up and down gentle mountain paths. It all leads to a stunning 25-foot waterfall at the end.

★★★★★ — Santos , Apr 2025

Hawk Falls is a nice little trail. It’s short but the falls are splendid; the cool breeze from the water feels good. No going in the water though! There is parking on both sides of the street, but not a lot of it. Go before lunchtime, or late. There is a long trail from the parking lot to Boulder Field.

★★★★☆ — Munson , Jul 2023

Hawk Falls is a great spot for a quick and easy hike! The trail to the waterfall is short and manageable, perfect for beginners or a relaxing walk. While the waterfall is on the smaller side, it’s still incredibly beautiful and worth the visit. The peaceful surroundings make it a great place to unwind.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
