Had a wonderful time visiting Hickory Run State Park—just about a two-hour drive with beautiful, scenic views along the way. Upon arrival, the staff at the visitor center were kind and helpful, guiding us toward Hawk Falls and the Boulder Field.
Highly recommend this park! We really enjoyed the walk along the river to the waterfall — peaceful and scenic. The rock formations are beautiful, especially in winter. Don’t miss the Visitor Center: it has an interesting exhibit and very friendly staff. A great place to relax, explore nature, and learn something new
Came on Memorial Day to camp, goo's choice...beat the weekend crowd. A lot of pretty sites. 2 loops are electric, one loop has some 3 ways. Restrooms are clean. But only one Restroom/Shower house for 2 loops. I think it would be a little crowded on a weekend or holidays. Nice beach area and plenty of hiking.
It's a wonderful place to go and explore has a great view of the waterfall different trails that leads you to different directions from the forest. Great for hiking.
