Confirmed from Heartland Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park with playground, swing sets trail, pond and shade.
What runners say about Heartland Park
“Very pretty, well maintained, plenty of open space.”
“The rest of the park is absolutely gorgeous and buzzing with all kinds of activities and other dog owners.”
“Rubberized tiles and the equipment is conclusively designed for children of all abilities.”
This is an amazing park with so many cool features. They even have several attractions for handicapped or disabled children. I even enjoyed playing on some of the attractions. They also have a sound area that is a lot of fun, but it was under renovation when I was there last.
Plenty to do in the unique, accessible, sports themed playground, or enjoy a leisurely stroll around the ball fields and lake. We hope to see the storybook portion of the walk restored soon.
It was a nice place to enjoy lunch. It was chilly the day we were there so we didn't walk around much. It looked like a nice park. This is a great park whether you have 10 minutes or longer. Just a time to escape and relax.
Beautiful Park, they have a great park that you can walk around. They also have a pretty lake with 3 fountains and a nice dock with a pavilion you can sit at thats on the water. Unfortunately there is only one bench so its not hard to be claimed by others.

Plan your run at Heartland Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceBoardwalk — flat and scenic, and slick when wet, so watch your footing
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
