Confirmed from Hedden Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park boasting scenic trails for hiking, running, and dog walking, plus picnic tables.
What runners say about Hedden Park
“Beautiful place to hike with friends and/or family.”
Still a great hidden gem after all these years! From easy walking paths and woodsy trails to picnic areas, the pond and the ball field. Love it here!
Green, Paved Paths, Gazebos, Grills, and Trails. There is a Duck Pond too.
Hedden Park is a great place to come for a hike, walk, run, bbq, play sports, and have a picnic. You really can't go wrong coming here and finding somewhere to sit or lay if you're looking to relax, or adventure through any of the various paths they offer from the hardest being red to the yellow, blue, white and green…
Gem of Morris County as long as the humans who enjoy her take care of her! Beautiful place to hike with friends and/or family.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadrestrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
