Great spot to just go stroll around and enjoy some fresh air. A big rock for kids to climb on if they are daring enough. And if you catch it at the right time you can see so many herring! Me fish ladder and other work being done. They do the fish fry here every year as well. That's a lot of fun.
THANK YOU TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS FOR THEIR HARD WORK AND TIME SACRIFICE TO KEEP THIS PARK TIP TOP! I love Beaver but blocking the herring from spawning is not cool. I believe it's all volunteer work and they take care of it every year. I hear that beaver dams I believe are a new issue to resolve every year now.
A nice place to take a good walk out in the woods for some fresh air. The herring run starts up around the second week in April for a couple weeks and you'll see thousands of herring swimming around. You can literally catch them with your hands that's how many there are during the time they run through
Really nice park to come & watch the herring run. Peak herring season is in April - that's when you have the best chance of seeing them run. Plenty of parking here & this park is a great spot to relax even when the herring aren't running.
