This trail actually goes in to Joshua Tree National Park, as evidenced by the small National Parks Service sign along the trail. Payment is not required to use this trail, so you can see some Joshua Trees and save some money.
What an incredible experience! This is an easy to moderate trail with a decent grade. It is a short hike at only 1.3 miles. Make sure that you wear shoes with decent grip as the sand can get slippery. The views from the top are astounding!
Trail was well marked and fairly easy. We went up counterclockwise from the start and was a more gradual incline than the other route. Beautiful views of the sunset behind the mountains. Lots of pretty flowers as well this time of year.
A great hike. The bottom half of the roof is a level one so super easy for anyone in the family. The upper part is a level two and it’s a nice vertical climb great exercise. Great views of all the valleys up top. Highly suggested!!!
