Confirmed from Hidden Valley Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Hidden Valley Regional Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (394 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 7 mentions

“Hidden valley regional park is about a 6 mile circluar walk that gives great views of the surrounding area, that can also lead into taken great photos.”

Seems like an entirely different planet if you know where to go. I love hiking in this area. There are a few things to keep in mind like beware of rattle snakes and the occasional sand scorpion. But as the old saying goes, "If you don't want any trouble, don't put yourself in that position to begin with.

Hidden Valley Regional Park is a nice place to visit and hike at. There are a few different trail loops in the park. I hiked the Highland Loop trail which is about a 2 mile loop and offers great views of the park and the Reno area. Worth visiting for a short hike.

Good hike if you’re feeling brave and want to stay in the city. Is much more of a challenge than you’d think, yet rewarding

★★★★★ — Ali , Mar 2024

Awesome views! Great sun filled hikes in the cooler seasons. Kinda intolerable in the Summer aside from early mornings

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 17 mentions

“Other than that, I have no issues all the people there are really nice and friendly so are the little dogs.”
