We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Rattlesnake Mountain yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Rattlesnake Mountain
“Wow, I was not let down what an amazing hike on really quite a beautiful day.”
It has snowed recently and a lot of the local trails were pretty muddy so I was looking for a place that would be so much dry. I picked this point on google maps seeing that it was a High Point. Wow, I was not let down what an amazing hike on really quite a beautiful day.
I rate this little hike a five because it's easy access, it's a short hike /walk, but gives you a little bit of elevation gain that gets yer heart pumping just a bit, and there are some nice views of the Reno valley and the airport.
Very nice moderate hike to the top. Great views of Reno, the Sierras, and the airport.
This place has some nice trails, some on the flatter side, as well as some pretty steep ones just over the ridge. There are not a lot of other hikers around usually, especially during the week. There are not a lot of trees, so there isn't really any shade. There are quite nice views of the city from up here.
