Confirmed from High Rocks Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Steep & rocky outcropping along the river, providing a rugged area for fishing & picnicking.
What runners say about High Rocks Park
“It is a beautiful and calming place for fishing.”
BRING WATER!!! BRING LIFEJACKETS. Be safe this park is for advanced swimmers and not a good place for small children. You can jump off rocks from 6' to 20' in height. Be careful there are undertoes, and even though the water looks to be moving slow, it's a huge volume. Parking is challenging on busy hot days.
Great swimming spot, with lots of options. You want to jump, great! You want to relax and just walk in knee high water? You got it. If you're less confident, there are frequently life guards stationed at this swimming location.
Great location for fishing! And swimming. I did see several warnings out there about undertow. So be careful. Hard to walk into a little it. And you have the freeway in the background. But even then that goes away.
Awesome place to just swim and jump off rocks for the thrill seekers.... I would bring a chair or towel to sit on, river shoes or shoes you don't mind getting wet. It's very rocky walking down to the water.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
