We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Highland Lakes Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Decent little spot along the trail. It's on the bend of the trail, has a little park, is next to 35 south and very close to the bridge. Being as such, the way it is set-up, you don't really notice any road noise until you walk the to the top of the trail that leads to the trail on 35 that will allow you to cross the…

It's mostly just a small playground, but it's got a picnic table and benches for sitting. It's connected to the Garden Ridge Trail and Doubletree Ranch Park in Highland Village via a connecting bridge. There's no bbq pits here but there are plenty in the adjoining park.

Cute little park. Artificial turf with padding in case the little ones fall down. Tall and short drinking fountain and one for Fido. Parking is very close. You can take the walking bridge to get to Double Tree Ranch Park.

Perfect park for the kids and a great walking trail to the bridge across the lake to another park. Just a few minutes away from my new listing coming soon to a nearby neighborhood 🌼

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
