Confirmed from Wichita Forest's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wichita Forest
Well-marked trails inside this small forest preserve. Impossible for a casual explorer to get lost. Bordered by a city sidewalk trail and across the street on two sides from parks. Short way from the lake.
My little kids love the trails here. They're close to a playground so when we're done exploring we can go there. The trails are great because they're short and there are some good ups and downs. It's also close to the lake so we've seen all sorts of wildlife walking around like turtles and snakes and birds.
It’s small, but you’ll go in circles thinking you’re on a long nice walk. It’s a good place :)
Can't tell that you are walking around near homes. Nice walk through nature.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
