Confirmed from Hobart Bluff Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Hobart Bluff Trailhead
“To the South you can access little pilot rock and great views of Mount Shasta.”
“Great easy hike near Ashland.”
Amazing hike. Kid friendly trail. Lots of small gravel on trail does make it slippery without good shoes. Best view around from top..
Beautiful views. Went in Mid October and it was pretty chilly so dress appropriately. There were a couple PCT hikers which was cool. My only problem is "easy" is a bit of a misnomer.
Great hike but important caveats. There is 4 miles of reasonably bumpy dirt/gravel road to the trailhead. We did it in our tiny city car but it was on the edge of what we could do and only at 20 mph. Driving up there on 66 was also more harrowing than we had signed up for. More gaurdrails please.
Great smaller hike to an excellent view! I am overweight and was able to do this hike just fine. I went slow on the hill but totally doable for most people. Highly recommend for the amazing view of Mount McLoughlin and Mount Chasta.

“Have to drive on a rough gravel road for about 3-4 miles which is no fun.”
“The last half mile is pretty steep, and even my wife who is an avid outdoors person was huffing and puffing.”
