Confirmed from Horizon View Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Horizon View Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (278 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

“The big grassy field, tidy play area, and surrounding trees give it a clean, welcoming vibe, and the whole space feels well‑kept without being overdesigned.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“On a good day, you can see beautiful horizon and sunset and even mountain Ranier.”

Nice park, pet friendly with trails. Kids really enjoyed. Mt rainier and cascade views on clear days. Also nice sunset place too.

★★★★★ — Viswanath , Nov 2020

Great park with lots to keep kids occupied. Swings, basketball court, tennis courts, baseball/soccer fields, great stationary train for little ones, and a fun play structure for bigger kids. Park is generally very clean and has good paved walking paths that make for good biking and scooter practice paths for children.

★★★★★ — Reuben , Apr 2023

This is one of the unexpected hidden jam spot that people in the neighborhood come and enjoy. You can play sports on the grass ground or let your children run around. If you like walking, you can walk around the fence too. On a good day, you can see beautiful horizon and sunset and even mountain Ranier.

★★★★★ — Daniel , Jan 2021

Great views, perfect neighbourhood spot to go for a walk/run or practice a sport. Kids and dogs friendly.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 9 mentions

“And even though they don't have a permanent restroom there is a handicapped accessable porta potty.”

Plan your run at Horizon View Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
