Confirmed from Horse Trails Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Mountainous park for camping and hiking, plus horses and wildlife.

Beautiful area to hike and explore the desert If your a geocaching TTT has caches set out
Fun spot to camp. Beware of the many cactus species. The Superstitious Mountains makes for a beautiful backdrop. There are trails for you to walk on or take a horse. Motorized vehicles are prohibited on the trails. There is abundant space.to park your vehicle and set up your tent/camper etc.
Perfect for a few days! Nice hiking trails. Lots of cowboys and horses 10am to 4pm. Watch out for when it rains, move to higher ground! We ended up with a perfect lake front camping spot after a good rain, lol.
Great trail access, right off The Apache Trail, and free 14 day camping.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
