Horseshoe Bluff Trail is a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed. The dramatic rock formations and breathtaking vistas of the Mississippi River make for an unforgettable experience. The hiking trails are well-maintained and offer a variety of routes for all levels of hikers.
I found this most pictured cluffs by chance. Stop at next parking after homestead parking. It is streps going to overlook. However, if you can't do stairs, go to the lower corner of the parking lot and take a path, which is slightly incline.
The lower trail at the base of the bluffs is an amazing short hike. We went late in the day at the sun was shining on them, making we stand there looking in awe at them. If you are in the area, make sure you check them out.
A nice trail with different levels of difficulty, but nothing too strenuous. The cliffs are a welcome change of pace tucked along the Mississippi Valley. For a bit, it feels like you're in western Colorado or Utah. You wouldn't know that the River is just on the other side of the bluffs.
