Confirmed from Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor
“Beautiful park, love this place, but beware the trail is not as paved as Google maps suggests.”
Beautiful park, love this place, but beware the trail is not as paved as Google maps suggests. Bike trail is over grown and hard to pass going west past Morris.
Love to bike or walk this trail, have been doing for over 25 years. Never gets old, so much to see especially in the fall.
The crushed limestone is free of pot holes from. Morris to Chanahon.Bring a small hatchet or a small chain saw . There were 5 fallen trees blocking the trail. McKinley F.P. is the most scenic part of the trail
Great way to get some walking in. Instead of walking around your neighborhood, there's a lot more interesting things to see.
