We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Independence Oaks Trailhead yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Independence Oaks Trailhead
“Beautiful oakland county park in independence twp.”
We visited Independence Oaks looking to get our annual vehicle pass. Found out that with the approval of the 2024 millage request, there is no longer a charge to any of the Oakland County parks and dog parks. The annual Vehicle Permit Program has been eliminated.
Lovely trails. Some actual hills. Pretty lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Got 10 miles in doing all the trails twice.
Great place to park and start your walk/run/bike through Independence Oaks County Park. Picnic tables are available for a pre- or post-walk snack or lunch and the nearby Wint Nature Center has bathrooms as well. Facilities and trails are all well maintained.
Wonderful park, I walk 6 miles here everyday, love this place. Hi to all the "regulars" :-)
