We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Inwood Hiking Trails yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring scenic walking trails that are suitable for children.
What runners say about Inwood Hiking Trails
“Easy walk and beautiful scenery.”
“Beautiful and peaceful trail.”
“The north side is mostly flat and smooth, great for bird watching or just an easy hike.”
The Inwood Trails are great any time of year. They are designated "primitive trails," and they aren't particularly groomed, but the signage is clear and the trails are (mostly) good and wide. Wildlife abounds; nesting eagles and osprey, plenty of songbirds, turkeys, herons, deer, amphibians, turtles and others.
Very nice trails. Easy walk and beautiful scenery. Great trail for the whole family! Easy and fun for kids and one of what seems rp be a dwindling group of trails that allows dogs.
Beautiful and peaceful trail. It’s very quiet and no one around. Lots of greenery in the summer. I love the wildflowers and the little pond. It’s mostly grassy though with trees. Walked the just about the full trail (did 9 miles in total).
I really enjoy hiking here, especially in the fall and winter. There's a good chance you'll see an eagle here
