Confirmed from Iron Springs Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“This trail is intertwined with the Spence Springs trail and it's a tad easier , equally beautiful nevertheless.”

Nice trail. There is a private road and don't let it scare you. People walk in and out all day long on this road. A lot of deer in this area. It's great fun.

This trail is intertwined with the Spence Springs trail and it's a tad easier , equally beautiful nevertheless. It also provides a gravel road alternative for a faster pace or use of a vehicle. There is a "special feature" somewhere on the trailway that i ll leave for you to discover!

This is the Spence Basin trail system. Great trail for mtn biking and hiking. Well marked with signs at the trail junctions. You can connect to the Thumb Butte trails.

★★★★★ — Lisha , Aug 2021

Ample parking at this popular trailhead. Lots of interlocking hike and bike trails. No water or restroom. Crosso point for the Prescott Circle Trail. Great views od the Prescott Basin. If you have a friend and two vehicles there are a number of options for one-way hikes from 30 minutes to half day trecks.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
