Confirmed from Ivy Creek Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
A sprawling lake and park with trails for biking and fishing, plus a playground and rentals for canoes, kayaks and paddleboats.
What runners say about Ivy Creek Park
“No complaints, the trails are very well maintained and the area is always clean.”
“A beautiful hidden gem located in the city.”
“It's a lovely place to take pictures or to have a peaceful time connecting with nature.”
What a GREAT place to walk your dogs (On A Leash)! Very cool walking trails that go around the lake. Very peaceful. 5 STARS*****
Home of Clemmons Lake - you can go fishing (catfish and trout I believe the sign said) anytime (from 7a - dusk everyday. Thems the park hours) and there is Kayak and Canoe rentals (seems like maybe only on the weekends). The trails and the lake itself are absolutely wonderful.
Excellent loop trail around Clemmons Lake. Perfect for walking your dog. Approximately half shaded areas through the woods, half sunny open areas. Not too much goose poop in the wooded area of the trail only in the open area- which is perfect for us with a puppy.
Great fishing for the whole family easy access. Well stocked pond. Nice walking trail. Canoe and kayak rentals. Awesome spot.

Plan your run at Ivy Creek Park
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
