Jackson Bottom Wetlands is a great spot for nature walks and taking pictures of wild animals and beautiful scenery.
Absolutely beautiful reservation. We had a wonderful walk and saw many different wildlife. Informative park center with interactive content. There was a sculptor on one of the trails working on a carving into a dead tree.
This is a hidden gem for the outdoor enthusiast. Came here during the week and saw all kinds of wildlife, including egrets, great blue heron, nutria, ducks, yellow finch, honey bees, and bumble bees. There is a fun nature center with an authentic bald eagle's nest. The bathrooms are clean.
Nice little area for an evening stroll or a flat easy hike, total trails in the area are about 4 miles if you complete all the loops. Very close to Hillsboro. Lots of birds chirping and blossoms. Only saw a few people, most were wearing masks (some weren't, so please wear a mask and follow social distancing).
