Confirmed from James Ormond Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

My son and I enjoyed this park and had so many trails to explore . Very peaceful, clean and fun for the kids

★★★★★ — Liz , Jan 2024

Nice, big, open park. Lots of good parking, with several handicap concrete parking pads, and concrete sidewalks leading to block bathroom facilities, and children's play area and jungle gym equipment. Wheelchair, walker, cane friendly to the max. Shady spots for watching the grandchildren.

Clean and pretty park! My son loved the playground and the space to run! We had a nice picnic here as well. The bathrooms were clean too! It's a nice stop on the scenic loop with small kiddos.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at James Ormond Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
