Confirmed from Jekyll Island State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Beautiful beaches, mini golf, biking and hiking trails, array of nifty and cute shops, and wonderful campgrounds. Please visit the museums and the information beards across the Island out. There is so much history here. Jekyll is the perfect multi-day getaway.

One of the gems of Georgia - this place has it all. History, ruins, beaches, dunes, gigantic oaks, bike paths all over the island, ponds with gators, several restaurants, several hotel options, camping, RV spots, some shopping, and gorgeous sunrises. Enjoyed being here and hope to come back.

Beautiful historic island, walking and bike trails all over the island. Driftwood beach is a great place for pictures and explore. Lots of great seafood restaurants. Sea Turtle center is always fun to visit.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Jekyll Island State Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
