Confirmed from Jensen Lake Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic parkland featuring hiking trails along lakes, plus a playground.
What runners say about Jensen Lake Trailhead
“I appreciated that it was almost entirely shaded by tree, had well maintained trails, and was not buggy when we went (which worked out because we forgot to bring bug spray).”
“The scenery was beautiful and was a mix of walking on wooden bridges and dirt ground but all of the paths were clear and easy to access.”
“Perfect length, well maintained, beautiful sights, trails are clearly marked.”
“Solid, easy trails while still being fairly interesting to run on and enjoy the scenery.”
This Trail is absolutely beautiful. The whole Lebanon Hills Regional Park area is an absolute gem tucked away. I love how in Minnesota that you can find places like this hidden in the suburbs. I'm easy to please with Parks and Trails but this is by far the best I've seen that's close to the cities.
Great trails, wooded with great views, very clean and good parking too. Well marked trails that were easy to follow. Some sitting areas along the trails, some info posts along the way with area facts. Nice
This was a nice hiking trail. It is free of road noise and you can hear the birds sing instead. It takes about 90 minutes to hike around the lake. It is moderately hard. The trails are dirt and rocky. There are boardwalks as well on the trail. There are places to lunch a Kayak onto the lake.
Had a wonderful walk around the voyageur trail. So many fun scenic places to stop and take a breath. Also bunnies galore!
Trail conditions & character
“The scenery was beautiful and was a mix of walking on wooden bridges and dirt ground but all of the paths were clear and easy to access.”
“A few of the elevated board walks were off camber, and there were exposed roots but certainly no difficult.”
“Great hike though and a ton of options for extending the loop.”
“Busy on an unseasonably warm Saturday in November but the trail traffic thinned out further from the parking lot.”
“Water fountain being off was pretty unfortunate, and a lack of covered bike racks was also fairly awkward to deal with.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
