Get out!! Really one of my favorite hikes in Rhode Island. Off route 1A, this state nature preserve offers numerous pathways throughout the woods heading to scenic Narragansett Bay. The main pathway straight shot to the water is about three-quarters of a mile.
It is a very nice place. But lately people are leaving dog waste bags all over. If you're going to pick up your dog's waste take ot with you and throw it away elsewhere. There's a gas station less than 2 miles away.
Easy, flat stroll to water. Mostly shaded. Quiet area. Friendly fellow hikers saying "hi", some with dogs. Be decent and please pick up after your dog.
Nice easy short hike with kids. They can enjoy picking clam shells and hear frogs' sound. Walking along the beach will be nicer when the weather is warmer.
