Confirmed from Johnny Cash Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Very nice at this time of year. Lots of flowers on the side of the bike path next to the rainbow bridge. The path loops around and is great for a bike ride. There is a good amount of uphill and downhill though so be prepared for a workout and bring water.

On a Thursday in September we parked on the residential street Hancock Dr at E. Natoma St. joining the trail there. We walked our dog LuLu Southwesterly and included the spur to Folsom Prison and back to the trail exiting at Stafford St. near Folsom Zoo. A few bikes, a few walkers and runners but not crowded.

Really nice paved trail. with option to explore other dirt paths in the wild that goes down to lake Natoma. And to the bridges. Went around 730pm it was a perfect June time of day to go. We pre sprayed OFF bug repellent ahead and not a single bite ♥️

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
