Confirmed from Joseph E. Ibberson Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Forest land of hardwood trees, with 8.4 miles of trails & 780 acres open to seasonal hunting.
What runners say about Joseph E. Ibberson Conservation Area
“Very well maintained area that offers a ton of shorter day hikes and exploration.”
“The area straddles Peter's Mountain and contains some beautiful wooded land.”
“Trail maps were unavailable the day I visited, but the trails are well marked and loop back.”
“Very secluded, quiet place for hiking.”
“Mostly easy trails with some elevation.”
Enchanting forest paths and not too many rocks underfoot. Trail maps were unavailable the day I visited, but the trails are well marked and loop back. My service dog loved it.
Very well maintained area that offers a ton of shorter day hikes and exploration. If you're interested in a ~5mi hike, try the Victoria Trail. This is a nice, relatively shorter hike that offers nice glimpses of forest scenery and, at the top of the mountain, views of the adjacent valley. Started off Rt.
Went for a hike with a friend. It started to drizzle a little bit it was pretty exciting there was a giant stair way up and down the mountain made out of rocks. Came across an awesome shelter some great people from all over. Definitely had a blast and made lifetime memories!
This was a great park with lots of trails with different levels of difficulty. We brought our dog and baby and had a blast. If you do bring a baby you may want to carry them in a pack rather than a stroller because there are roots and rocks on the trail.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
