We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Kettle Moraine State Forest yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
State park featuring a lake, picnic tables, and a public restroom, plus trails.
What runners say about Kettle Moraine State Forest
“Absolutely beautiful, lots of trails, I also love getting off the path and just traveling thru the woods!”
“Calming, quiet trails, not to hard to run but some spots on the trail are rocky.”
Love the Kettle Moraine State Forest from hunting, snowmobiling, horse back riding, biking, jogging, cross country skiing, fishing, family walks, picnics, photographing nature, camping, etc, this place has it all, we love it, Thanks Wisconsin
Wonderful time today with my family of 5 on the Ice Age Trail. Getting the young ones into nature to start off our summer.
We love this area. Lots of great trails and beautiful scenery everywhere you go. Easy trails all the way up to some very challenging ones. Hundreds of miles on the ancient ice age trail always gives you a new area to see. Some keys points also are done in way to make them easily accessible to anyone.
Calming, quiet trails, not to hard to run but some spots on the trail are rocky. Perfect getaway or some alone "me time".
