Confirmed from Kickapoo Meadows (Cook County Forest Preserve)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Field for remote controlled model aircraft, offering a runway for planes & a pad for helicopters.
What runners say about Kickapoo Meadows (Cook County Forest Preserve)
“Clean quiet, portable toilets, better be sure you're not settling up where someone already has a permit to be.”
Beautiful!! Great time with the #FPCC #ForestPreservesofCookCounty KIDS FEST! It was a beautiful day! Hiking, canoeing, there climbing, archery, yard games, nature crafts, music, fishing... AWESOME PLACE to just chill too. Family friendly!!
The place is small but nice, it has a small track for cycling or walking, you can see some deer and some other animals, it has some places for bats that are very well suited It has several public bathrooms, the place to rest is nice
This is a nice park with a lot of space for kids to ride. They also have a walking trail and we crossed at least ten deer 🦌. We’re more afraid of the deer than they were of us. We will be going back as long as weather permits.
1 mile trail is good for walking with your furry baby, friends, or just your thoughts, as well as biking, jogging or sprinting. It is Very clean and there is ample free off street parking.

Plan your run at Kickapoo Meadows (Cook County Forest Preserve)
The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.

- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
