We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of KOA Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about KOA Trail
“Great place to run, walk and bike.”
Beautiful trail! It’s about 2 miles around I think? As it comes around the water it is an amazing sight, especially at sunset. Once you walk it a few times you see things that help you make how far you are— like the house with 20 black and white cats, or the flat area right before you get back to where you parked in…
Great trail for San Angelo area. Lots of wildlife if you come at the right time. Not very difficult at all but you can run it, it does some little hills.
Great place to run, walk and bike. I've been coming here for nearly 15 years. The hills will get you if you're not in decent shape though
Friendly neighborhood to run or walk. I do 5 miles a day or 2 laps around the KOA. Lots of hills to bring the heart rate up to fat burning zone.
