We really enjoyed walking la Chua trail. Started off being a neat Forrest with really old trees. Got alot of pictures. Then got to water. Kept seeing small gators and eggs. Then once Lilly pads stoped the big gators came to view there were hundreds. It was alot of fun being an untouched part of florida.
Beautiful, well maintained trail. Very easy with a stroller as well and not too long or hard of a hike with lots of beautiful scenery and wildlife. There's a good chance of seeing alligators when the weather is cool (in the 60s) and sunny. There's usually a lot that come out of the water to sun themselves.
Such a fun boardwalk & trail to see literally hundreds of alligators on a clear, sunny day. We stopped counting quickly and enjoyed safely being able to watch the alligators sun bathe, chill, & swim. It's easily accessible for anyone even in a wheelchair, scooter, or pushing a stroller.
This was a great walk! Saw lots of alligators and birds. Interesting trees and scenery. Highly recommend! Bring binoculars.
