Reason for review: This is a real review, I visited in august and I was focusing on photography specifically looking to capture wildlife. Before I went I read lots of reviews that didn’t tell me exactly what I wanted to hear so I thought I’d write a review to help anyone who may want to hear what I needed too before…
Very beautiful park. There’s is a free guided tour were they take you around the park and explain to you the history of the Sweetwater wetlands. You can call them to reserve a spot, they are given every Tuesday’s and Thursdays at 9:30 am. Really recommend to get to know the place.
For a small parking fee, this park provided nice walking trail that featured a variety of wild life. Wish I’d gotten a photo, but a juvenile alligator enjoyed a nice stroll down one of the paths unfazed by people. Smart areas of shade provided along the path and well maintained. Would love to run this park regularly.
Walked around here for a little and in a about an hour we saw a good variety of animals. Even got to witness a gator doing a mating call towards another gator. There are many trail options of different lengths and spot to sit on a deck type area with shade and benches to rest an view the animals.
