Confirmed from Lake Apopka North Shore's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Sprawling nature preserve along Lake Apopka featuring hiking, biking & horseback riding trails.
What runners say about Lake Apopka North Shore
“You see plenty of beautiful birds and lots of alligators.”
I can't believe that in a 10 minute drive from town you experience this amazing wilderness. Its like nothing I ever been too. If you never seen an alligator in the wild, you will here, for sure.
Absolutely love Lake Apopka miles of roads to hike or bike. Viewing stands that provide some shade are located throughout. So much wildlife to see. Birds , bobcats , bears and possibly an alligator or two 😁 or three or four.
It should be called Armadilloville because we saw 8 of them while hiking the Red Blaze Trail. It’s very quiet and other than the armadillos, we didn’t see much. I’m not saying that there’s nothing else there, I’m saying that we didn’t see anything else. Very wide trail and clearly marked. We would hike this again.
Such a beautiful place. The drive down the 11 mile road took around 2 hours. It was worth it!. We saw so many birds, gators, turtles and more...
Trail conditions & character
“There are a few spots to pull over and get a better view or pictures.”
“I think it was about a 13 mile stretch of wilderness and at 10 miles per hour, it takes all afternoon to drive through but the whole family will be entertained.”
