Confirmed from Lake Busbee Walking Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Lake Busbee Walking Trail
“Seen a pair of bald eagles sitting at the top of a pine tree and it's such a beautiful sight.”
The Lake Busbee Walking Trail is owned and managed by our state-ran utility company, Santee Cooper. Originally a cooling pond for the old coal power plant, now it’s a nice marshland with a fantastic view. The trail is 2.4 or 2.5 miles one way so it’s easy to get a solid 5 mile walk/jog/run out there.
I've passed this lake and park a million times traveling and never knew it was a park! It's a nice quiet trail despite a four-lane highway next to it. There is plenty of trail to walk all the way around the lake. The Spanish moss hanging around the entrance looks so beautiful.
This has been the best walking/ running trail I have found so far in Conway! You can get a pretty solid 5 mile walk (round trip) out of it and you definitely have the ability to make it an easy stroll or a more challenging walk.
