Confirmed from Waccamaw River Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Wooded area featuring hiking trails as well as a disc golf course.
What runners say about Waccamaw River Park
What a nice river walk. It is just about a mile walk. Plenty of rest stops with benches and swings. Even a gazebo with rocking chairs. Great place to stroll, bird watch, people watch, and boat watch. Several restaurants right on the river.
Cute little park with some trails and a disc golf course. Did not see an alligator 🐊 .
We had a nice walk exploring the Waccamaw River Park. The main loop was nice, lots to see, though sometimes hard to know if you are on the trail. Would like to see more trail markings put up. During mild winter days this is an excellent park to walk, no bugs, no flooding, just a quiet nature walk.
Fun walk in the woods. Very cool variety of wildlife. I have seen lizards, deer, turkey vultures, and a pair of yellow crowned night herons. Even saw a rooster once. I only wish some of the trails were a little better maintained. 🌲🦎🐓

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
- Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
