Confirmed from Lake of the Ozarks State Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Swimming, hiking/biking trails, camping, boating with an aquatic trail map & lantern-lit cave tours.
What runners say about Lake of the Ozarks State Park
“We camped, the bathrooms were clean, lots of toilet paper.”
“Beautiful views, wonderful environment, friendly and helpful staff, and incredible prices too.”
“We moved down by the lake and really enjoyed the view of the lake - very peaceful, the camp hosts were very helpful and nice.”
Let me start by saying, there is not good cell service. I could send texts and receive calls but was unable to surf the web to search for things to do or initiate navigation from the campground to anywhere else. We booked an 8 night stay in Section 3 of the campground.
Moving to a new area can be daunting, but I've found so many beautiful experiences here. From watching stunning sunsets and exploring the little trails to catching an impromptu ball game at the baseball park, these moments have truly captured my heart. The Lake of the Ozarks, in particular, has been a highlight.
We did do one bike trail that says no bikes half way thru. We camped, the bathrooms were clean, lots of toilet paper. Deer and armadillo everywhere. The deer will come right thru your site and are everywhere you look!! The beach was nice and refreshing dogs can swim just outside the the beach area.
I visited the Park specifically for hiking a couple of the trails - Fawn's Ridge and Lakeview Bend. My overall impression of the Park itself is that it's very popular to the point of being too crowded and noisy for me, so I don't plan to return.
