Confirmed from Lake Sawyer Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a lake for boating and fishing, plus wooded trails.
What runners say about Lake Sawyer Regional Park
“Beautiful area, but my experience as a paddle boarder would have been better without power boats on the lake - it was crowded with them.”
Love this beautiful park.. I'm here for a walk every weekend! It's such a gorgeous lakev- all year round. Walkers, bikers and those fishing always make it such a enjoyable place. It's a happy place! Beautiful!
Other then parking and the walk from the parking lot it's amazing....... the water and views of the mountains plush fishing ohhhhhhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhhhhhh lol
We had a wonderful time hiking here! Highly recommend!!! So many different trails, vast forests with a lake running on both sides of the acres of land that this is located on. It was extremely hot when we went but it was cool for the dogs and with a lake along the trails they could cool off safely.
My son and I visited for the first time planning on a one hour MTB ride. Almost 3 hours later we found our way back to our vehicle. The dense forest and spaghetti bowl of trails made it hard to keep your direction. Lots of fun though. Not difficult riding, but plenty of roots and rocks.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
