Confirmed from Las Trampas to Mt Diablo Regional Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Great spot for a short hike with some beautiful panoramic views of the valley. Lovely park with a nice mix of woodland and open spaces. Perfect for a quick hike or just a relaxing walk in nature

★★★★★ — Revathi , Feb 2025

This is an extension of the Las Trampas Regional Wilderness Trail that emanates from the park off of Bollinger Canyon Road on the west side. This particular section runs from about Hap Magee Ranch Park through a few communities and to the Macedo Ranch Staging Area, and entrance point to Mt. Diablo State Park.

★★★★★ — John , Jan 2021

Seldom traveled multi-use regional trail connecting neighboring communities, Las Trampas and Mt. Diablo Regional trails. Be careful, it often has lots of goat-head thorns and there were some bobcats spotted throughout the area.

★★★★★ — Mark , Jul 2019

Interesting trail with animals & lots of mansions to look at! Great view of Mt Diablo after the first hill

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

⛰️ Hills / elevation 4 mentions

“It has a steep incline in the beginning, mostly clear of brush on the trail/path.”
