Confirmed from Las Trampas - Del Amigo Trail Entrance's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I like hills - this ridge climb is all uphill. This is quite the climb to the top of the ridge. Views were amazing. Took trapline trail down the otherside and the chamise / trail loop back. So much coyote mint- one of my favorites. Some fossils and pretty rocks on trails.

I love this trail. At times it is very steep. It goes through a shady, riparian area before it opens up to a meadow with views of the Tao House. You can walk into the Tao house property and walk around. Plenty of parking on the street. The trail entrance is a slit in the fence so it might be easy to miss.

So happy we found this trail. It's a little challenging for our little guy but the landing at Eugene ONeill was a huge bonus. Careful with the cows around as there is a bull in the herd and he can get too close to the path.

Beautiful trail with a view on the San Ramon Valley. Start slight steep but further along the trail it is moderate.some in the shade and some sunny, do not forget your hat.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
